Far Lost - An In-Dev Story.

Far Lost is a game about surviving and exploring a mysterious atmospheric world with intense combat followed by moments of eerie calm. It's a roguelite in the sense that each run is random, you can only die once and you build up your character as you progress. As you explore the world you'll begin to uncover its secrets, and with those discoveries you'll be able to dive even deeper.

This first release is an in-dev version of the game. It's a project I don't want to silo, so if you have feedback that can improve it's direction, please do share :) There will be weekly updates to this project with social media posts and dev-logs discussing things that are in the works. You can find a list of these channels at: https://lostatgo.com/links

The main objective of this release is to make a game where the player goes from room to room conquering enemies and collecting hearts. If they die, the game resets. They can't backtrack, so whatever path they choose, they're committed to. There's currently only one enemy type that gets tougher as the player progresses. There's only one room type, and the player's health is the only upgradable player feature. Needless to say, this first version is quite minimal. Though, it does make for an enjoyable 3-5 minute experience with room for plenty of new additions.

Next week's update, beyond polish and some small bug fixes includes the following (subject to change)

  • Player home (customizable in the future, and will act as a trophy case for discoveries. A place of calm before the storm)
  • Additional rooms
  • Player weapon upgrades
  • First discoverable persisting treasure
  • Start/Pause menu
  • Player stat saving
  • Player and enemy character improvements

If you're into atmospheric backrooms-inspired top-down roguelite games, check Far Lost out and stay tuned for updates.
